How secure are your firearms?

I got to a friends home and in the rifle rack you find an airsoft toy that looks a lot like an AK-47, you find several air rifles and 22's, a 308 bolt action and a 12 gauge pump shotgun. No locks on anything. Ammo store with guns.
On the table are two pistols. One is airsoft, the other is a 38 special revolver. It isn't loaded, but I watch a 11 year old spin the cylinder, point it at a 6 year olds head and pull the trigger.
A disaster waiting to happen! Everything I own including ammo fits in my Stack-On 19 gun safe. Everything in that safe has a trigger lock on it, including pellet guns.
The boy's airsoft pistol is a toy. He knows that. It NEVER mingles with the real guns, because I don't want to send the message my 357 snub nose is any sort of a toy to be played with, ever.
How secure are you. Do you leave things out in the open for kids, before you say your kid has been taught, has you kid NEVER done something wrong? Why would you leave guns around or mix them with toys?

I'm afraid your friend is in for a serious wake up call.

I taught my children gun safety in the living room from the time they were able to pull a trigger. When they were same all guns were locked except my duty weapon. I was VERY PROUD when my daughter called an asked to come home from a slumber party because a girl was showing her Mom's (unloaded) pistol to everyone. (Boy did that Mom get ear full).

I took my nephew out and taught him to shoot and gun safety. My sister-in-law was pissed. I was very smug when she called to apologize. Her son came in crying that he did want her to get hurt. She asked, "Hurt how?". Daddy's gun is on the floor, it's dangerous ! Put it up!!! he cried.

I have a couple of air-soft "toys" and they are never with the real weapons. I have also showed my grandson that air-soft is NOT a TOY. I shot him in the foot with his shoes on (only after I was sure it would not permanently harm him) It stung enough that he said he did want that to happen to anyone.
