When storing your rifles from season to season do you store in cases or leave open to the air I never have given it thought but while I was hangin out at the range someone mentioned that storing in a soft case is like a sponge holding moisture next to your gun can someone enlighten me to some thoughts and ideas? Thanks for your help!
I have heard from several sources that the spongy case liners increase moisture. I have also heard that you can wrap them in wax paper before placing them in the cases to protect them. Validating this theory is the fact that both of the brand new firearms I ordered direct from the factory came in cases, but the guns were wrapped in waxpaper. So I believe it. Personally, I keep them in my cabinet, and play with them often so they are wiped and lubricated frequently.
