How practical would night sights be along with a weapon mounted light?
Currently I have the stock Glock sights and I'd like to get night sights put on. I'm thinking about getting Trijicon. I've also thought about getting a tactical mounted light as well or even a laser/light combo along with the night sights. As for the light I'm looking at a Streamlight TLR2.
My question is: How practical are night sights and a tactical light/laser? Is it a little overkill, or should I just get the night sights?
Thanks.
Night sights will make it way easier to pick out the sights. Even when the attached light is on, the sites are shadowed by the gun, so they may still be hard to see. Besides Trijicon, you might also consider XS sights. Either brand would be excellent.
as far as the light or light and laser, it really depends. While I'm not really a fan of lasers on long guns, they can be useful on a pistol, provided that they don't get in the way. The TLR-2 would add a laser without adding any bulk over just a light. Personally, however, I would prefer to be able to drop the light without loosing the laser. I would go with a TLR-1 for illumination, and crimson trace hand grips with the built in laser.
